Take a walk on the wild side with Graeme Scott's Wildlife for Walls ... Graeme is a wildlife artist/illustrator from beautiful Mount Tamborine in the Gold Coast hinterland. The artworks that emerge from his studio … birds, animals, insects, fish … all radiate colour, energy and attitude, out of strong lines and often with lifelike textures you feel you can reach out and touch. Australian and African themes feature, in both original and limited edition formats. Although he works in mixed media, Graeme’s preference is for watercolour pencil. He likes the depth and range of colour it produces, and the choice it gives him to work in intricate detail or with overall shapes. In the artist's own words... My style? I like to create with a sense of humour, so many of my works are quite ‘in-your-face’! But there’s a more spiritual side of me that plays around with what animals might look like if they wore their life-force on the outside as colour … my abstractimals range was created in this way… And then, I also like working with the style and starkness of simple black and white … And, I enjoy recreating the beauty and majesty of the creatures of the sea … Then there’s another side of me that loves the challenge of creating portraits of people’s loved-ones … of the pet variety of course ...
