About the artist, Graeme Scott

I'm a wildlife artist/illustrator, working from beautiful Mount Tamborine in the Gold Coast hinterland.

I work in mixed media, but I really like watercolour pencil – for control and depth of colour, and because it allows me to work in intricate detail or with overall shapes. And my jazz series is created in one of my favourite things in the world - coffee!

I like to bring some fun to my work – this comes out in my emus range especially.

Also a bit ‘in-your-face’, are my abstractimals. Transformed by colour they celebrate the power and influence of colour in our lives – focusing, exciting, calming, raising spirits and challenging our senses.

I like the style and starkness of simple black and white (but often can't resist adding just a touch of colour).

And I love the challenge of creating portraits of people’s loved-ones (of the pet variety).

You can catch me at the Tamborine Mountain Country Markets on the second Sunday of each month (at the showgrounds) and at the Gold Coast Beachfront markets on the first and third Sunday of each month at Broadbeach.

If you're heading up to Mount Tamborine and need a place to stay overnight, check out Vista72 my holiday cottage next door.
